But I love helping other writers, and this service is deeply helpful to writers, so:

WRITE. BETTER. is based on your needs, strengths, and goals as a writer. It is more individualized than an MFA program or any pre-recorded course.
WRITE. BETTER. is writing coaching to permanently level-up your writing style, writing practices, industry navigation, and potential to succeed; all with concentrated attention tailored to you.
As an award-winning writer — a critically-acclaimed novelist, poet, comic book writer, and essayist; not to mention the writer of many solo podcast episodes — I’ll be offering everything I’ve learned across mediums and genres to help you succeed in your work. I’ll also be bringing along my nearly 20 years of experience as a writing teacher, coach, and university instructor.
WRITE BETTER COACHING INCLUDES
◦ Meeting for a WRITER’S ASSESSMENT MEETING in which we’ll uncover your strengths as a writer, where you’ve been getting in your own way, and what the best path forward with your writing projects is.
◦ Talking about how to get organized as a writer with your time, space and mindset in a one hourlong WRITING PRACTICES & HABITS MEETING, in which we’ll develop a writing routine and space that works for you.
◦ Finding the best path forward for you to become a published writer (or to publish more if you’ve already produced work) in an hourlong WRITING INDUSTRY & GOALS MEETING; whether it’s self-publishing, finding an agent and publisher, creating your own media platform, and more. We’ll also talk about the opportunities (and pitfalls to avoid) for writers in the current feverish cultural climate.
◦ Meeting to discuss your writing projects in THREE WRITING WORKSHOPS MEETINGS (each 50 minutes) where we’ll examine your writing directly with structural and line edits, story suggestions, thoughts on character and style, and more.
◦ The option of CONTINUING ON WITH ME after this first round of meetings.
◦ CRITICAL EDITING SESSIONS between our meetings in which I will be working on evaluating and commenting on your writing.
◦ Ongoing ACCOUNTABILITY SUPPORT from me to keep you writing.
◦ Individually tailored SKILL-BUILDING WRITING EXERCISES for your practice drawn from a huge library of exercises I’ve developed over the years helping writers.
◦ Individualized RESOURCES based on your needs as a writer featuring stories and essays to read, podcasts to listen to, self development exercises, books, and more.
FEE:
The fee is $2100. A payment plan of two payments is available at a slightly higher amount.
All payments are made using credit or debit card via Square.
